Brigadier General Jeffrey Foley, Miss America Lauren Nelson & USO Metropolitan Washington President Elaine Rogers at Picnic with VA Medical Center Residents
The USO is giving retired residents of the Ft. Thomas VA Medical Center a special treat Saturday, September 1. USO Metropolitan Washington President, Elaine Rogers will join Brigadier General Jeffrey W. Foley and current Miss America Lauren Nelson in visiting with residents during a picnic at the retirement home. All three are in town for the 4th Annual USO Riverfest Gala being held in Cincinnati on Sunday, September 2.
Brigadier General Foley was born and raised locally in Cincinnati, Ohio and is a Mariemont High School graduate and recipient of the Key to the Village of Mariemont. He is also a U.S. Military Academy graduate and has received medals for his service in Operations DESERT STORM and DESERT SHIELD. Brigadier General Foley currently serves as the Commanding General, U.S. Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon in Fort Gordon, GA. Joining the General will be current Miss America Lauren Nelson, an Oklahoma native and music student at the University of Central Oklahoma.
